How do you say “I’m tired” in Japanese
疲(つか)れた Tsukareta
疲(つか)れた is the most popular way to say “I’m tired.”
A:疲れた〜。
B:どうしたの?
A:テスト終(お)わった。
B:そっか。ゆっくり休(やす)んでね。A:I’m tired.
B:What happened?
A:I’m just finish with the exam.
B:I see, take care.
疲(つか)れた is the past tense of 疲(つか)れる.
When you are tired from something in the past, you can say 疲(つか)れた.
・今日(きょう)、サッカーをして疲(つか)れた。
・I’m tired from playing soccer today.
・昨日(きのう)は、仕事(しごと)を頑張(がんば)ったから疲(つか)れた。
・I got tired as I worked hard yesterday.
くたくただ。 Kutakuta da
くたくただ means “I’m exhausted,” and you can use it when you are really tired and feel like you cannot even move.
A:たくさん走(はし)ったから、くたくただよ。
B:マッサージしてあげるよ。
A:ほんとに!? ありがとう!A:I’m exhausted from running much.
B:Let me give you a massage.
A:You serious!? Thanks!
もう無理(むり) Mou muri
When you are so tired and do not want to do anything, you can say “もう無理(むり).”
But, you should be careful when you say this phrase as people might take it seriously and worry about you.
A:もう無理(むり)!
B:大丈夫(だいじょうぶ)?どうしたの?
A:何(なに)をやってもうまくいかない。
B:そっか。休(やす)んだ方(ほう)がいいよ。A:I can’t take it anymore!
B:Are you okay? What happened?
A:Nothing goes well.
B:Oh, you should take a rest.
