Simple! “Hang out” in Japanese is 遊(あそ)ぶ.
You might think that 遊(あそ)ぶ means “play,” and it’s used only for children’s games.
But actually, it also means “hang out,” and you can use it no matter how old you are!!

When you say, “I ask someone to hang out,” you can say “遊(あそ)びに誘(さそ)う.”
